I was out working by the river this morning and looked upstream from my home just above Brown's Hole on the McKenzie.  There is a new tree significantly blocking the foot of Bear Creek rapid.  If you plan on boating that stretch (1) scout it from the highway (just before right hand turn after MP 31), and (2) get far river left after you get to the bottom of the rapid.  For those planning the traditional McKenzie Wooden Boat Festival float to the show, you can take out at Silver Creek or Rennie before Bear Creek.  See you all Saturday at the show.
