I'm not a framed boat guy, hope nobody stones me...
Since I can remember my favorite thing to do when visiting family in Seattle, was to visit the marina and look at boats, particularly the wood ones. Now I'm not religious, but when I bought my first house a year and a half ago, it had to have a shop, and it was like God told me to build a wood boat. I didn't really feel I had a choice. Now (1-10-09) I'm about 80% done with my 17' double ended Briggs Dory. Can't wait for spring runoff!
I've been rowing western rivers for 10 years in rafts.
Jeff- just saw your question. Yes, I have owned the Cactus Rose for 12 years now. Last had it on Deso in 2006. It was built by Dennis, Greg and others from Down River equipment. Late 70s early 80s vintage. Fun boat. Probably for sale later this spring. Mike
