    The 16' boat I built wasn't a stitch & glue but I didn't need to do any kerfing for the bottom... sorry I can't help you with your question. Randy Dersham is right in the middle of building a short pram - I'll ask him to respond to your question... Good luck. Greg

    Hello Tom, Greg Hatten gave me a heads up that you had a question about kerfing the bottom of your pram.

    We debated if we wanted to kerf on the our new Tubby pram. It's only 8'7" LOA and has quite a rocker. In the end we didn't. It took two people to get it to bend but the fur came around well without a kerf.

    If we were to kerf it wouldn't have taken more than three passes with a skill saw and not more than 1/4 deep. Fill the kerf with thickened epoxy before bending into place.
