Thanks for the info!  I'd love to purchase plans for one of his kits someday.   They seem to be well suited for flat-water rivers like the ones near me.

Jason used Speedliner which he applied with with a texture gun/compressed air on his boats. On this boat I used Durabac applied with the roller supplied in the kit. If one carefully follows the instructions it works quite well. The vapors emitted during application are quite unpleasant, however if you take proper precautions and simply work through it, the finished product is worth the effort.

There is a water-based product called Kiwigrip that is way less offensive to the nose but still very durable when used on the interior floors. I have used it on other boats and found that it worked well. My only beef with it is the limited color choices.

I have not used plascore yet. I have a pretty good comfort level with marine plywood, so that's what I use.....maybe some day!

Thanks for your comments........dp

I've always wondered what Jason Cajune says to use as the interior coating?   The boat looks fantastic.  I've always loved this design.   Did you use plascore for the bottom?

This boat is right at 15' for length. Maybe a touch under. The max. beam is 55" at the chines and 741/2" at the oarlocks. I don't know what the finished weight will be but my guess is it'll be under 300 pounds.  I started it in August so it needs to get done. I'm looking forward to it floating......soon!
