to abrade or to sand fully, that is the question

i now have a coat of epoxy on the entire hull, inside and out.  getting ready to varnish.  my question: can i abrade the epoxy or do i need to sand it all the way to a scuffed gray?  i have heard…Continue

sorry if i went a little overboard w/ pictures.  i think i am the only person in my generation to not "facebook" or anything like that, so boating/fishing/investment forums are my social network on the internet.  for the record, my girlfriend was livid when i showed her the flounder picture (which i love by the way), so i posted another one of her that is more flattering.
