Hey mike thanks. Another member in a forum pointed that out today too when i asked about an anchor mount. Awrsome stuff. Workin on it now. Layon a second layer of 10 oz glass on the bottom. Hopin to have the last layer done with a graphite dope layer by friday night. Then to the chones and the inside. Well see if i can get it done beforw the festival. Im comin down with it either way. Later.

I copied this from a previous post. Give it a try.

To post the picture I first located the file so I could find it. In your case I copied it to the desktop. Then I clicked on the small icon above the box where I am currently typing. It is just to the right of the small icon that says "LINK". That will open a box that reads: "ADD IMAGE". You can choose from FROM MY COMPUTER or FROM A URL. In my case I chose FROM MY COMPUTER and clicked on the Browse button and went to the file Desktop where I then clicked on the appropriate picture file that I wanted to post. A double click started the process of copying the picture so it could be posted on the website server.

When your picture will be posted it will be full sized and there will be no clear margin around it because I didn't select any "padding." I can chose to post the picture to the left right or centered on the page. I could also make a picture larger or smaller based on the width in pixels that I select.

Click okay and the picture will be copied to the post you are working on. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hope this helps.

Rick

Ha, two minutes after i posted that i figured it out.  But on a gov'y computer i cant do much.  Sorry to let you write all that but i appreciate it.  I hope someone else reads it and you dont have to type twice.  Thanks again though.

Jerimiah, I just go back to where I last pasted it so I don't have to type it!

Thanks,

Hey i just posted some new pics.  Check out the furniture (seats)

This is what she looked like the day i got her.

I'm almost doing the same project but your boats is in much better shape then my old boat. Mine was built from the plans in the 1956 boat builders handbook. trying to get it finished for the show also but I have a nice backup boat. can't wait to see your oar artwork when its done, great job on your project.

Hey thanks a lot man,  That is really encouraging.  I wouldnt start on the better sahpe thing yet.  I have a long way to go,  i put a screwdriver through the side of it with ease under the upper rail near the bow earlier,  Gotta dig all that out and fill with epoxy mix for strength.  Wondering if i should do the sides in an extra 8 oz fine cloth for added protection,  maybe not.  Dont have much time.  I am going to try to lay the last layer of epoxy and graphite tonight.  But gotta look up the ratio.  Thanks again.  later.

So i am trying to finish the last coat on the bottom with a graphite dope but i hit a snag.  Do i put a last coat over the glass then a layer of graphite mix or just the last layer of thick graphite mix and let it stand?  any thoughts on the mix.  the website i saw had a tablespoon of powder to 1 oz of mix.  does this sound correcct?

I think the west system graphite is 10:1 but table to 1oz sounds right cause that's what I measured mine with. I did multiple layers of epoxy/graphite on my first boat and will do the same on this one. I had three rotten ribs, both inner chines and hole in the bow from the anchor bouncing around in there and a cracked joint in the bottom ply, leaks in the transom joints because the old plans didn't put trim on the outside over the joints.  big chunk of one side rotted also which was a fun patch. going to call the boat Patches after this.

A heat gun softens the old epoxy and paint making it very easy to clean off the sides. I have 6 oz on the sides of mine and it takes quite a hit to damage it, unfortunately I found that out but not big enough to keep me off the water.

If you are around the Portland Oregon area I can show you the Clackamas river.

It does say right on the west container about how much to mix,2 tablespoons per 8 oz I think?Mixing too much graphite in will make it brittle.

Mix in a little cabosil for some abrasion resistance,

I posted a few pictures of a square ender that I recently launched that I built from a kit from Ray's River Dory. I changed some of the wood that was in the kit and spend way too much time on the interior bright work.  The anchor mount is on the bow and is dierk's bow anchor mount.
