As most of you know, I'm a wood drift boat "junkie".  I row my boat with passion and occasionally pay the price.  Recently, I was asked to name my top ten "treacherous rivers" to run in a wood drift boat which led to an article that was published yesterday in Salmon Steelhead Journal's - Drift Boat Guide.  Before writing, I asked several fellow wood boat "river runners" what their top ten treacherous rivers are in the NW - partly because I wanted to know if they "obsess" about the same rivers as me but also because I didn't want to be left alone to defend the treacherous rivers I picked.  Hope we got one or two of your favorites.....  the article is on page 34.

Great article - thank you

By the way, is there any chance you can delay this years show, I am building like crazy but I just don't think I will be done in time... :)

Greg, I finally was able to get it electronically.  Well done.  My favorite part was about one of your group's boats going through Whitehorse alone, without oarsman.  I witnessed the same at Rubber on the Middle Fork of the Salmon when a Vida neighbor, the late, and great, Frank Wheeler's boat untied itself and ran Rubber alone.  Plus, Frank's video camera was on and recorded the whole run backwards.  On a similar note, the late legendary wooden boatman ran many a rapid on the Middle Fork and the Illinois with no hands on the oars do to a crippling condition which caused many an involuntary oar release.  Tom's motto was "go with the flow," and noted that left alone and away from our mistakes, wood boats are like corks and divine their own way through havoc.
