I need to build a rear roller for my trailer.  It hasnothing now, just 3" channel.

I would like to build rather than but so I'm looking for ideas on the roller itself, material, "axle', "bearings", etc.  I do have a light wire welder & can weld up to about 3/16".

Pictures are VERY much appreciated (I'm a visual learner)

Vance, I dont recall... 1/8 in thickness ?? strong enough to support but not to heavy either.  End caps, flat steel with a hole in center, were cut to fit inside roller pipe with a nut welded on the inside   may have put a small (drill) drain hole to let the water out of the roller after being backed in to the water since the  roller axle, bolt nut assembly,  would not be water proof. I just keep that assembly lubed.  I have seen those rollers of hard rubber about a foot long  but might take 4 or 5 of those  along the back with a solid rod as the axle of the rollers on supports might work too ?  Steve

Thanks for the pics, info, & ideas Steve.
