Eastern Wooden Boat People Gathering / Float? Anybody Interested?

In a few different threads some of the Pennsylvania folks had talked about having some sort of Eastern gathering.  Water such as the delaware, susquehanna, etc.. came up.  I know there are a few forum followers from PA.  I think Dave Z and Steve L mentioned they might be interested.  Thinking springtime 2014.  Weekend where everyone drags out their wooden boats and does some fishing.  Maybe a cookout or something?  Any thoughts?  Anybody interested?  You don't see too many wooden boats on this side of the mississippi - would be cool to meet a few others.  Chime in if you would be interested, maybe we can get something on the calendar.

sure.  ill play along ron.  allegheny, yough delaware?

Ron,

If you decide to go ahead with this I'd be interested in comiing East from Michigan.  Sounds like it would be a good time, maybe a two day thing.  One Day Displaying & Meeting and 1 day fishing.  Doesn't have to be a fancy place, but a riverside park/access.  Maybe a few other Michigan boys would be interested also, there's a few of us here with wooden DBs.   We are about 10-12 hrs away.

Sounds like it could be fun.

Phil,

There is an interesting twist... how bout we come to MI????  While I love PA and all the fishing opps, MI has some great stuff... Ausable, PM, Manistee, etc... and the surroundings are amazing.  Hendricksons on the holy water first week of May??????

Dave

Phil,

How much are plane tickets to MI? I would love to see what you guys have been up to, plus I have never fished East of Montana.

Rick N

Rick,

I don't have a clue what a Plane Ticket goes for these days.  I haven't flown commercial since about 2008.  Was a complete hassel with TSA coming out of Vegas,  I have two Knee replacements and getting through Airport Security is a real pain in the arse.  But I'd think you could find a deal somewhere.

If you make it here someday I am sure there are several of us who'd be more than willing to do some drifting.  Right now the Steelies are starting to pick up as the Salmon is winding down.

Looking at going next week for a couple of days.

Dorf, I'm headed to the Grande Ronde at the Idaho, Oregon, Washington border. The conditions have changed, the water has gotten colder and our Grande Ronde steelhead should be leaving the Clearwater and the Snake and headed home. Not taking the boat this weekend, trying to walk into a few good places that have worked for my fishing buddy in the past.

I would love to meet you guys and fish your waters, we'll have to see how things pan out. Still thinking about coming West?

There's lots of folks I would love to visit with and their boats I want to see.

Rick N

Rick,

Still thinking of coming out West next Summer.  My fishing buddy won't be making the trip so I am looking for a new buddy to share expences.  Haven't polished my plans but was thinking of using a Boseman, MT for a home base and making a few trips West and South from there.  Not sure how far West I'd go but am open to suggestions.

I was thinking the delaware but we can leave this thread out there for awhile and see who replies. Lots of options.

Ron,

I'am all for keeping this one going.

I would be game to help put something together if the group decides to come to MI. It could become an annual tradition!

I am in. Susquehanna,Delaware, anywhere in pa.........i am also up for the Henrys Fork if someone drives my boat and truck out there.

Got Sirius radio in the truck? Lol. I am looking into Delaware possibilities for a group event.
