As most of you know, I'm a wood drift boat "junkie".  I row my boat with passion and occasionally pay the price.  Recently, I was asked to name my top ten "treacherous rivers" to run in a wood drift boat which led to an article that was published yesterday in Salmon Steelhead Journal's - Drift Boat Guide.  Before writing, I asked several fellow wood boat "river runners" what their top ten treacherous rivers are in the NW - partly because I wanted to know if they "obsess" about the same rivers as me but also because I didn't want to be left alone to defend the treacherous rivers I picked.  Hope we got one or two of your favorites.....  the article is on page 34.

The magazine doesn't seem to have widespread newstand distribution here in the Midwest, but I did see a copy at my local Fleet Farm ("The Man's Mall," as their promotional T-shirt says).  I glanced at the article and recognized your boat looking great as always.  Now I will have to go back and buy a copy.  Sounds like fun.

Ha - very cool.... on the magazine rack at Fleet Farm!!  I'll have to let my brothers in midwest know to go pick up a copy.

I bought the magazine, but I found the neat stuff, including your article, in the online edition.  Your article was impressive, Greg - very well researched and nicely written.

Greg,

How do we get to this on the internet without buying the magazine.

David

Hi David - move your curser over Drift Boat Guide in the Discussion Post and it should link you up to the article.  If that doesn't work - do a Google search on Salmon Steelhead Drift Boat Guide and it should pop up for you.   GH

I was able to read it on their website, but I need to pick up a hard copy. Nice work Greg!

Thanks Jason - I'll check about hard copies.  GH

Awesome article!  Hope 2012 is off to a good start for you and not for the fish (you catch)! All is well here; not much fishing yet!  I am not making the annual Boat Show this year; Mexico beckons!  Hope to catch up soon for drift, bullshit and maybe a little whiskey!

Cheers to our friendship

Darrell

Oh man - the show won't be the same without you!!  Take care - catch a big fish down there!!  Rain-check on that whiskey.

Greg, not only did you write a nice article you also got a nice photo of you and your boat both in the magazine and the online article! Now everyone in the Salmon & Steelhead world will know just how nice they can be made. Good job and great product placement too!

Hi Rick - thanks for the kind comments....  I gotta go get one of those magazines - I didn't know my boat was pictured in it - ha ha.  Take care - look forward to seeing you at the show in April !!

GH

Speaking of show, do you know when it will be? Right now I am available and can schedule a day or two in advance to help out and organize things if Randy is busy. Let me know.
