There's no "may be" there...fixing a leaking chine seam by glassing over it...that IS a band aid, and as we all know, go "swimming" with a bandaid over a wound and it will come unstuck...The problems with glassing over something is that it never completely comes unstuck....it just gets soft and traps a bunch more water in the damaged area until someone either rips and sands and scrapes it all off to start over, or makes a yard ornament of the dead boat.

Epoxy and glass does have a place in for sure, but it needs to be well thought through and properly used, not something often done by backyard builders, who tend to treat it as a 'miracle patch all'.

So worst case  scenorio ......

New bottom ..chine cap and chine log ..just to put the wood on with out glassing it ..How much would you charge...and then to glass the bottom what would it cost...

So the cost of wood and the time to put it together...

The reason I ask ...... I have someone looking to repair the boat in olympia..He was refered to me by evergreen boat repair out of Anacordis..

I don't have the tools or the time to do this amount of  repairs at this time.
