Hi all my name is Mike,when i first came to this site i understood that it was for wooden boats built with traditional methods only.After reading and posting for awhile i've come to the understanding that this is not true.I've read threads and looked at pics of all kinds of beautiful boats with different build styles.I think the end result is all the same we enjoy fishing from boats we have built ourselfs.I've enjoyed reading past and current builds here so i thought i'd throw in something a little different.

This is a model of my project.

The length of sides is 13', length of floor is 11,' width of floor is 48" sides are 20" with a beam of about 66"
The sides and bow panel will be 1/4 meranti, floor and transom will be 1/2" corecell M80 foam covered in layers of fiber glass.Construction will be frameless.
This boat will double as a lake boat though its primary use will be rivers.I also will be hauling this boat on my roof rack so i can pull along the travel trailer.This is why the flat bow and foam floor.
So far all i've done is some tests on the foam for strength and durability,still learning there.

i've joined the side panals together,i had my plywood supplier cut a puzzel joint with a CNC.i made scarfs on my first boat so i thought i'd try the puzzel.Wow really easy a little sanding to get the burs off some epoxy to wet the edges a little goo and some weight and done.total time under fifteen minutes from start to finish.The big plus is the joint lines every thing up for you.
