I was watching "Baseball Tonight" last week and they were discussing that in 3 years ash will be scarce and too expensive to make bats. I guess a beetle from Asia is clearing the trees. Anyone else hearing this? Maybe I am asking a rhetorical question.
Just got some nice ASH at Woodcraft. Quarter sawn 10 ft. long 5 1/2 inches wide. $19.00. They were kind enough to plane one true edge and surfaced both sides to my needed dimension. Sawed 20 degree chine logs and am installing.
