Has anyone come up with or seen a good boat rack one can mount on their pickup truck to carry a drift boat? Wanted to come up with something so I could tow my RV trailer and drift boat together rather than using a second vehicle.

I find that I am not the only person with this dilemma. The present fleet of vintage trailers met our needs. The arrangement even worked if I threw an old BSA motorcycle in the back of the pickup. Then, a 12-foot drift boat and trailer came into the picture. At 170 pounds, the boat would not be too hard to winch into the back of the truck. All that was needed was a roller, frame, guides, tie-downs and some ramps. However, the driving visibility seemed poor for longer trips.

My preferred solution, keep the drift boat on the trailer and trade the vintage trailers for a new pop-top truck camper.

If a better solution shows up, I would consider it.

Don't know the laws in the western states, but us redneck types in Alabama add a hitch to the rear of the RV trailer and then hitch the boat to the back. Should work great for a boat as light as a drift boat as long as you don't need to backup and can overcome the fear of not being able to see your boat going down the road.

Thanks John. I live in British Columbia, Canada where there are lots of mountains and the law won't allow us to do that. I have a basic idea in my head on a carrier system but thought I would check around.
