Boat Specialties, Inc.

Hello.  Can anyone provide a little summary of BOAT SPECIALTIES INC.??  I'm heading to take a look at one that's for sale and wanted to know a little more. 


I have seen Ostrum's name mentioned in conjunction with BSI, but haven't come to a full understanding.

Dutch just restored a beautiful old rapid Robert built by boat specialties. I think roger looked at the boat beforehand and recounted a little history. Seems like if u get in touch with either of those guys they might be able to point u in the right direction

Boat Specialties was owned by John Henney in Salem, Oregon. John Ostrem was his principal boat builder until he started building on his own in the mdi 1960s. He continued to build for Henney for a time but by the early 70s was on his own. Boats by Boat Specialties were highy regarded and most buyers were from the mid-Willamette Valley area.
