I'm a new member and if I'm being out of line please let me know. I've used a number of discussion groups that prohibit anyone talking about products their companies offer even if they provide a substantial benefit to the sites membership. Those sites want your money to advertise and if you don't spend then the users suffer from not receiving information on new and helpful products and services. I've kept our company's name out of this and will do so if that's required.
Anyway, one of the services our company provides is high-tech polymer coatings for the interiors and bottoms of drift boats and sleds. Our customers are pretty evenly split between fiberglass and aluminum boats but the fact is the benefits to a wood boat far exceed the others. It is also stronger, has superior adhesion, and is less expensive than UHMW.
Love to answer any questions and provide what ever assistance I can.

You are not out of line Duane. I don't clamp down hard on people that have a great product that other in this forum are interested in. Many members talk about products that they recommend and it is well within reason to introduce yourself to the community in a blog and mention your business, your product, and insert a link to your website as a part of who you are. There are also sections in your member page for that.
That said, it hurts the forum community if every other post is a pitch for a product by a well meaning manufacturer. Our goal is to share ideas, celebrate great work, and cry on each others shoulders when we screw something up. As long as you participate in the forums with that in mind and mention your product as a solution when people are asking for advice to solve a problem then have at it. Please stay away from unsolicited advertising such as putting marketing photographs in the photo section.
I would expect you to jump in on any discussion that involves the pros and cons of different bottom treatments and why you are making the decisions that you are making. There is no joy in watching members debate an issue that is a part of your life without having a say. We welcome your experience and welcome you to the site.
Thank you Randy and you are certainly a logical breath of fresh air in the boating forum community. I look forward to offering any help that I can.
