I'm finishing glassing up my sides and am wondering about blush. I've rolled out a saturation coat of epoxy on the sanded wood, then squeegeed another coat to partially fill the 4oz. weave. I let that cure overnight at 70 deg. Then rolled another coat without sanding. because of the poor light in my garage I can see a 3 or four small places where the texture of the weave is still present. Can I just touch up those spots or should I roll another coat. I'm starting to worry about blush and the subsequent coats bonding well. The epoxy had been tack free but I could dent it with my thumbnail. I am using system 3 general purpose epoxy and have "the epoxy book", the book says I can recoat up to 72 hours without sanding if I'm using Silvertip, but does not reference the general purpose resin. Can I recoat today (it been 14 hours since my last) or should I wait for a full cure and then sand. I would really like to work on it today if possible. What does blush look like? and how can I tell if it is present?

If its only a few small spots, let the hull cure untill its really hard- . Blush is a waxy looking coating on the surface- almost "greasy" look to it. Best way to remove(cheaper, safer) scrub with solution of 1 cup household ammonia andf 1 quart of water. Scrub with a scotchbrite pad, rince several times with clear water and rags, Surface will probably look a little "dull" but it will be ready for more epoxy patching or another coat. Always wash with ammonia before any sanding- if you don't you might contaminate the surface and never get a good finish. Worked for me.
Good luck,
