Awesome
I second "awesome."

Way to go, Tom.  It's nice that those gaily-painted boats are still appearing, silently from around the bend. Will there be a longer film produced from your trip?  One thing tho', this is "wooden boat people"--can you show us some repairs?  It makes us sooooo happy!!:)

Icy gunwales and hot toddies,

Great footage, Tom.  Nice sound track selection too!   Let us know if you put any more of this footage together.

Tom, fantastic footage of what must have been a memorable trip. Hope there's a longer cut coming, with more interview footage.

Yes, there should be longer film to follow and i'll post a link here when it is up. The repairs were funny! In 1955, Brick Mortenson put a hole in the chine of the FLAVELL and the boat was patched at South Canyon. Maybe it's genetic, but Leif Mortenson put a hole in the chine of the SUSIE R just above... you guessed it, South Canyon! We pulled the boat out of the water, got out the heater, dried it out, glassed it, and off we went. Both the FLAVELL and SUSIE R took on additional chine damage on our trip, as did the original 1950's boats, but nothing that Gorilla Tape couldn't fix. The GEM did fine. It's a tank. All the best, tom
