A buddy and I will be heading down to the Green River in mid May to fish the Green for a couple of days before we head to Vegas.

We have booked a guide while we are there, but we are looking for suggestions for a float to do on our way down there from Calgary.  We were looking for something in either the Jackson or the Idaho falls area that will be not too blown out, and will provide some epic browns, preferably on dry fly.

We will have his Hyde aluminum boat in tow, mine is still a pile of sticks so we will have room another if a local wants to join us.

If there is someone in that area that would like to fish with a couple of guys from Calgary who would be more than willing to recipricate should you make the trek up north let me know.

Thanks gang,

Andrew

That is a great looking boat Mike.  I will be back that way for sure. All of our rivers are blown out up here and all I can think about is getting onto the Green.

When I make it back that way I will for sure look you up.

Finaly got to take it for a ride Sunday  June 5th.

The flowes were down to 4700 cfs but the rapids at that range were great, the fishing wasn't bad either.

Got a few more trinckets to put on and then off again this weekend.

The flow's are supposed to increase to 6000 cfs this weekend so it will be a blast.

The flying ants are on down on section B and there realy knocking'em dead down there, so we are going to try and run all the way to Jarvies Ranch and get in some realy good fishing.

You can PM me and I'll give you my contact info so when you come you can call and give me a heads up so I can plan ahead and get the scoop on the bugs before you get here etc.

That is so cool.  I was never much for the whitewater, but after getting some when I was down there I can see the appeal of white water drift boating.

The flows were just above 4500 CFS when we were.  Our guide (Gene Gutieri from Trout Creek Flies, great guide) got us into some whitewater when he ran us down the middle of roller coaster rather than taking the left which was pretty fun.

When we were own our own we had a pretty funny event on dead man's rapids.  As we were heading into the rapids my buddy was rowing and said how does it look.  I told him to go left, but I was messing with my camera so I did not notice a large bucket.  He said asked again how does it look, I saw the bucket and yelled, I dont know about that side about 2 seconds before we nose dived into  the bucket.

A wall of water came over the front of his low profile Hyde and drenched me.  I had water in my nose, ears, up the sleeves of my rain jacket and down the neck.  I was soaked.

We were laughing so damn hard we had to pull over, not to mention to drain the boat and change my clothes. Lesson learned.

I'll shoot you a pm.

Looking forward to the 6000 cfm this weekend.

I may have my anchore system ready so I can fish too - lol

didn't get to fish much last time and I'll have my boy's with me this weekend and they wont be able to row the higher water, so I will need to anchore if I'm going to get in any fishing.
