I traded a Folbot kayak that I paid $50 for a summer ago for this wooden boat. I had been wanting a dory or a small driftboat and was kind of taken by the old Rapid Roberts of the McKenzie. Just needing something to row around the lakes of Central Oregon and float from Warm Springs to Trout Creek. I'll attach pictures, but here are the details as I know it:

Length 14' on center

Beam 64" at widest point

Depth 24" each end and 27.5 in middle

Seven cross-pieces

transom - 23" high in middle, 48" wide at top, 22" bottom

lots of rocker - 4 to 5 inches

It's a square-ender, of course

Other curiosities:

It's last reincarnation was as a sailboat and has a centerboard. I've already filled that hole, plugged it on the bottom and fiberglassed it. It also has a steel bracket for a bowsprit, which will make a good base for an anchor mount at the bow.

It is NOT open on the front, the last 24" decked (and a hole for the mast). Sorry, this photo did not turn out.

I have fitted it with oar mounts, but I can see no sign that there ever were any.

The transom has never been cut or fitted for a motor.

It has an outer gunnel, but no inner (made that way as the crosspieces are rounded on the interior)

The side have two seams - about a foot apart, butt joints with overlaps. I find this curious due to the length.

7 crosspieces, but looks like it was stretched at the stern as the transom is about 20" from the next crosspiece. 

It has an Oregon HID number, but the tag is almost new. I would guess the boat is 40 years old +/- ten years.

Oh - the best news - IT FLOATS!  Leaks about a gallon per hour at lower chine. Have already chalked that with 5200. See next post.
