After seeing all the great photographs posted here on the site I'm thinking it would be fun to produce a calendar of twelve images for 2010. I have a pro SmugMug account that will allow me to create and make available for sale the calendar. I would set the price at cost so no worries about extra charges. By using the SmugMug account anyone can order one at a time directly on line and not have to wait for me to fulfill the order. SmugMug takes care of all of the printing and shipping. The only disadvantage is that high quality paper and one at a time printing makes the calendar cost about $20.00 each, but I'd pay it.
Let's try it this way.
Post a potential image in a reply to this forum discussion. If we get twelve then we are good to go, if not we have to bug our friends. If we get more than twelve we can have a bit of a run off vote here on the site.
I'll make sure you each maintain the copyright to your image. We can create a quick license for this calendar only so you are insured that the image is owned by you and we are only using the image one time for this calendar alone and not for profit.
Hi Randy, really great idea! Hmmm...which photo would folks like to see in a calendar. ...that's the question...most likely none of mine...but let's try this one...
The caption would be "Full sized replica of the GEM, a McKenzie Double Ender with a transom, built by Moulty Fulmer in 1952 and taken through Grand Canyon in 1955, 1956, 1957 and 1958. Replica built by Tom Martin"
Hi Randy, nope, not done yet, but getting very close. We hope to get the boat on the local lake next week, and attempt a Grand Canyon run this winter, so won't have anything to you soon enough. Next year though. Yours, tom
These were taken 2 weeks ago on the upper Allegheny in PA. This is my old 16DET in Fir, currently owned by my very good friend, R. Bell. He is credited with these two photos, I have his permission to use these.
Great idea Randy. Here is a thought. I am willing to bet that there are photos taken by members of there boats in every month of the year. Group them according to month and pull the selections from the groups. Here is my contribution. Maiden voyage on the South Fork of the Snake River (Canyon Section June 2009)
