I have been looking at diffrent sites, and i think i am going to go with the don hills set of plans. They have a video with theres, and i was wondering if any body has watched it, and will it actualy help me. I also was hoping you guys could give me a list of tools that i will need so i can try and buy them before my plans arive.
Thanks, Brandon

Brandon, I too ordered the Don Hill plans with the intent of building a boat from scratch. The plans are good and someone with some wood working experience should be able to build a nice boat no problem. The video is nice and really helps dispell some of the worries I had about doing this.
The problem I had was the logistics of trying to find all the needed wood and materials needed to do this. With that and worrying about scarfing chine logs, sides, bottom and everything else I realized for a first time boat builder it was more than I wanted to attempt.
I now am planning on ordering either a 16.5' or 17' boat from the Tatman folks in the next couple of weeks. I believe this is the best decision for me. I may have saved money the other way but this seems like it will be better money spent.

Good luck whatever you do,
Mark G.
