thank you to everyone for your comments and help. I sanded her all out and in the end decided to use teak oil on it. She looks great, maybe another coat of oil might be needed, but I as soon as I am done with this, I am off for 2 days of fishing on the Pere Marquette.

Whoa - I failed to notice you are a michigander... let me know how you do on the PM... I am itching to get up so bad. The reports have been decent... and take a few pics of your boat on the water! What stretch are you floating?
Yesterday on the PM was just one of those days that humbles you in your fishing. Didn't land any fish, had a few takes, but in the end the boat smelled of skunk. The water is in pretty good shape really, I just think that the steelies had other priorities. We floated rainbow rapids to upper bridge, because we had spin friend along, but I will be shooting back up to the fly only section again soon. Photos to follow.
just a couple of photos. not the best shot of the boat.

Sounds like you guys had fun despite the uncooperative fish...
Let me know when you plan on heading back up - I am trying to get a weekend up there in the next few...
Thanks for posting the pics - so cool to see a wood boat on the PM.
