Ok, so I have built three drift boats from scratch, 1 canoe and two sets of oars.

I have four sheets of Meranti in the garage (6mm), 1-1/2" sheets of 1/2" fir and tons of scrap 12mm Meranti, 6mm Meranti, 1/4" fir and doug fir dimensional lumber. There are several 16' + sections of ash, white oak in the rafters... (I have been hoarding this stuff over the years and buying a "little extra" with each project..)

I don't really have space to store another drift boat, but I am thinking i *need* a small pram or rowboat. I actually would like a small pram for some of the lakes nearby. I could easily hang a small boat in one bay of the barn.

Anyone have any small pram plans? Anyone have any experimental plans that need proving out? Maybe I should model a small craft and build my own design???

ideas anyone?

Ooh, I think I've found it... This place is not far in my state. I have an original 1950s JOhnson motor in my moms basement that would work perfectly on one of these.

That would be a great project, I was going to suggest some type of small to medium sized sailboat. These can be challenging and very rewarding. I have seen some pretty versatile set of plans on the net too. Good luck, I will be watching for updates.
Hey Dave,
How about a flat bottom Skiff type boat. It seems you could build the front part of a drift boat then repeat rib #5 back to the desired length. Probably would need to beef up the transom (1-1/2" or 2-1/4"). Might be just the ticket for your old Johnson. This is something I have been thinking about building for my Wife and me for the lakes around Central Oregon.
Mike
