I am a new member to this site, but I know I was on a simalar site back in the early 2000's. At that time I had a built a 17' Greg Tatman from a kit. I found this site to be extremely helpful. Currently I am stuck in Southern California after spending 20+ years living in Utah and floating all over the Mountain West. But I have an escape plan in place! I will be in Montana by the summer or fall of 2015! In the meantime I am going to build another boat to occupy my down time here. I just ordered some plans form Don Hil for a 16' drift boat. This time it will be done scratch. I look forward to participating on this forum.
If you look over on my pages "The sad tale of a compulsive boat builder" LOL those boats are from Don Hill 17 fly fisherman lines. Unless you like the look of a frame boat there is another way to build with the same or less effort and easier long-term maintenance. And it isn't stitch and glue----. The ones I have built have complicated furniture interiors, but they could easily have traditional seats and floorboards.
