I acquired a Ray's River Dories built Mighty Mac 16 from my father this last summer.  It is a beautiful 12 year old boat with very light use.  I live on the Snake in southern Idaho and this will be a great boat for the waters I like to fish.

I have two issues that I would like to present to the experts on this site.  Maybe you can help me make some decisions.

1) The boat was stored under a car port and with a canvas cover.  The way the carport was situated allowed quite a bit of sun to reflect up off the concrete driveway and onto the bow of the boat.  You can see in the attached photo that the bow is faded quite a bit.  It was really noticeable when I removed the old boat numbers and then you could still see them in the dark wood underneath.  I can just live with it but suspect there is a solution out there.  I will wait until the outside needs varnished again and take care of it then but would like to plan ahead for what will need done.

2) This boat has a Diercks Bow Anchor Release with a cleat on the bracket.  I have to turn around to drop or raise the anchor.  I have always had foot release anchor systems but can not visualize how to do that with removable floors.  Anyone have any experience with putting a foot release anchor system in a boat with removable floors?  I am not a big fan of side release but that would still be better than what I have.

Thanks for reading!
