Hello all! I have learned so much on this site from you guys, thank you! Here is the story, I am building a 15' drift boat over Christmas break (I am in college) I am off to a good start and believe I have each aspect thought through other than the paint on the outside of the hull. I am glassing/epoxy the bottom and on the side I was thinking of having a good buddy who happens to be a wonderful artist do a custom paint job on the outside of the hull. Does anyone have any experience with this? How will it hold up to the sun because this boat will be fished hard throughout west Michigan. My questions are:

What type of paint? Acrylic?

Obviously put a coat of quality primer on the hull.

What would you use as a protective clear coat? UV protector?

If you have any input please feel free to tell me, this is my first boat and i am on a college income so I cannot get too fancy but I am looking to build a quality boat. Thanks!

-this is my buddie most recent work

this is the most recent picture I have but I am much farther than this, I will be shaping and adding the plywood this week.
