Prefinishing Ribs

Hi all, thanks in advance for any assistance. My question is whether it makes sense to prefinish the boat ribs before assembly or not. I have prefinished with epoxy on the sides and exterior bottom. I intend to z-spar the ribs after assembly.

It's fine to pre-finish the frames, just do not put any finish on your glue joint
