After several months of planning, what started as a "hey lets build a drift boat" has materialized into a reality. With plans in hand, lots of research (this site is awesome) and finally some wood the project is underway. Terry Knight and I (Roscoe Van Ausdoll)live in Warrensburg Mo. . I'm retired Air Force and Terry is Air Force Guard, we both love all things outdoors but fishing is our true passion. The past year has really fueled our love for fly fishing and this started the dream of building our own boats. We have both spent time in Alaska, fly fishing for the myriad of salmon, bows, grayling and dollies. We explore some of Missouri's less known trout waters in search of those great days with a fly rod in hand. Lots of opportunity to put a drift boat to work here in Mo., but the bigger picture is to do explore some the western rivers. Oh well, here is 150 BF of native Mo White Oak, ready for the planer and table saw to transform it into a boat. we will try to post pictures and text as we go, again thanks for all the information we have already gained from here>

A short side note to a great intro... The "story" of the build already has an intresting chapter. We did get semi turned around on a cult like compound to include being tailed and stopped by a kind fellow with the looks of the main character of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Who would of thought there was two driveways with stone pillars?
