Well, old pal, this brings back memories.  I was there one July when river came up so fast we ran the fish ladder instead of lining it!  Lining was impossible. Black Bar was washed out.  Mule Creek was so high it was like a pond, but Blossom was truly frightening. I have had a similar outside - in fracture on the Three Forks to Rome run on the Owyhee, but it was lower and involved the chine.  We pulled it to shore, built a fire to dry wood, and put in plywood patches and rolls of duct tape.  The duct tape was good for about an hour/fix.  Finished the trip, and because the boat was old, it became a planter.

Locally the folks I would show it to are 3 wise men:  Randy and Sandy, and
Steve Steele in Lebanon.  With their wisdom and your craftsmanship, you'll be back whacking steelhead shortly.
