I recently finished a scratch built 16' double ender from Rodgers book. A friend is also building a boat. We are river novices and are trying to learn the ropes on local Portland rivers, Sandy/Clack.
Question: We want to plan a multi day trip down a NW river in a year or so. Does anyone know of a place to get detailed river maps that would list such things as launch sites, rapids, places to camp along the way, fishing, best times of the year to float, etc...? We want a relatively calm river (no major white water, though we could line it) with good fishing that we can spend 2 or 3 days floating/fishing/camping along. I have ordered the Oregon River Map and Fishing Guide book but am looking for as much info as I can get my hands on. Thanks!
