I had the opportunity to see plans for a Ken Swan skiff (Little Gem), yesterday. In his building instructions he recommends a 'free style' building method like we do with McKenzie boats and is also highlighted in Roger's book. Very interesting! And it looks completely doable.

I found out that he used to be in Oregon, and has moved to San Jose (why, I have NO idea LOL) - I am guessing that he picked up this building method from the Oregon Drift Boat builders. Anyway it is cool and I wanted to share... Oh and it looks like he has a lot of nice skiff designs... didn't see any drift boat designs on his site though.
