So I started a blog. Mostly to document my build, but also just to share pictures of life as it goes by here in jackson wy. Expect boat building, bc skiing, ww adventures, fly fishing, backpacking, mt biking, climbing and music too. kind of a mixed bag but prob mostly boatbuilding the next few months. I got a few posts up so there is something to read. Ill post progress as I got along. I have the next few months pretty open until fishing season starts. I'm hoping to lock myself in the garage during most of April may and June before fishing trips start to get the boat together. Hoping to have it on the river this summer.
Ill warn all ahead of time this is not a wooden boat build. There will be little wood used. Therefor im not going to run a blog here or post about the boat unless it is on topic. However, since this site is about boat building, there may be some pertinant info to some on the blog. everything from vac bagging, to alternative materials and methods for composite work, design and lofting with models, at some point oar making, and all the other little stuff that goes along with a build. There will prob be a few lifestyle shots too along the way. The boat I am building is a decked hiside 17x54 that's a modified mckenzie shape. The boat will be built from corecell foam with a plascore interior and the entire boat with be vacuum bagged. ive been planning and gathering materials for years, and i have a few months of free time so im looking forward to getting into the shop and doing some building.
