Hi all, just posted a bunch of photos we took at the McKenzie River Wooden Boat Festival a few weekends back. Just like to thank Randy and Debbie Dersham again for their hospitality and for organizing the Festival, and for Greg Hatten for organizing the parade. You all are wonderfully hospitable and you all have Great Rivers! Thanks for letting us float along! The photos should be on the main page. Thanks again, yours, tom
Hey Jason, no, not yet. Not sure if i will. The dang boat weighs enough already :>) Besides, i like going down stream too much. That stayin in one place, whippin a very sharp metal hook around on a string is just askin for trouble :>)
Haha. love it... spoken like a true canyon boatman! I watched a really interesting show about the canyon/boating on PBS the other night - it was super interesting and exciting to see the boats running that huge water. truly impressive
So...if...i mean...IF...i wanted to get an anchor to help hold the boat off the shore at night, what sort of anchor would you recomend? My only experience with anchors on GC trips was watching a guy cut off his anchor line a fet feet underwater after being unable to get it loose from the bottom at South Canyon, of all places...your thoughts are appreciated!
Hey Tom... I know a guy that cut off his anchor line just south of Marten's Rapids on the McKenzie... in fact, he was making that "cut" about the same time you were leaving him a note on the windshield of his green Land Cruiser. I loved that anchor - but the water was too cold and fast to go swimmin for it. It was wedged "tight" and I couldn't budge it so it will be there awhile - when it warms up, I'll go get it for you. Hey - thanks so much for taking some great photo's and posting them for us to enjoy. It was great having you at the show and seeing the GEM on the water.... absolutely awesome!! GH
