This forum has got to be one of the most open minded, interesting and informative sites on the internet. A year ago I knew nothing about building boats. Since then I have built a couple. Now I feel I could design and build one from scratch.

Although I'm not currently building a boat, I still visit this site at least 5 times a week. The discussions are always interesting. The people are friendly. The photo display of incredible craftsmanship is simply captivating in its self. It's a perfect combination of tradition and innovation. You guys (and gals) are awesome.

Thank you all and keep up the good work!

here here, i find myself in the same boat. 9 months ago i didn't have any clue about drift boats...wooden or otherwise, always fancied myself a kayaker. i got back from the grand canyon with dories on the brain lookin for a fishin boat, and about a week later i was the proud new owner of a trashed pile of wood that sorta looked like a boat. after literally tearing every piece off and rebuilding it from scratch i feel like a have a newfound knowledge of boats, and a huge amount of respect for the time involved to make one. this site made it all possible. there is an incredible amount of information available on this site, and it seemed like most of the time if i had a question, there was an answer here. the photos section here is my favorite, its great to see everyone setups and steal ideas for your own boat. cheers to a great resource.
