So I almost have the old gal back on the water. It has been a longer than anticipated process that began in Nov 08. Still left, finish the front seat, install a rear seat and attach the rub rails. I have had a blast and thanks to a lot of you, I think I have a much better boat.
Here are the details. 16' 48" Fir Tatman. New cedar floor boards, new cedar and fir front seat (the top of the front seat is from the old front seat), new adjustable rowing seat of cedar and fir, new adjustable oar locks, New fir casting deck and oak horns. The floors are oiled with Teak oil and everything else is oiled with Deks Olje. As you can tell the from the pics that oil system has a sheen similar to varnish with all the benefits of oil.... so we are told. The extiror is painted with Pettit's Easypoxy (3 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint)
Let me know what you think.
These little folk are oarsman in training!
