Question:

Almost done with my first McKenzie double ender with transom and not sure what to do with all that space behind the rower.  I live in Southwest Colorado and will mainly use boat to fish on the Upper Rio Grande River.  Mostly flat water with occasional white water, maybe class II/III.

Anyway, I would like to have the option of putting a third person in back to fish behind the rower but not sure if this is a good idea because this boat has a asymmetrical shape.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on the issue, or should I just go for it and not worry about it?

Hey Lucas,

The rear seat is not a great idea on that boat. She is pretty narrow and the weight of someone behind the rowers seat will make the transom be in the water making the boat harder to control. That being said if you put someone back there only when fishing or in frog water you will be O.K. just make sure they move up front when going through anything somewhat technical.
