About Me:
I have been a flyfishing guide for the last ten years, I grew up in Bozeman Montana and still currently reside there. I thought it would be the best thing in the world to fish out of a boat I built from scratch. Kind of like catching a fish on your own tied fly but on a much larger scale.

Boats I own:
just the one I am about to finish, had a Yellowstone Drifter for a while.

yea, I'm building mine from scratch also. MBB boats are beautiful, but mine won't be, I'm just not going to flow coat and sand that much. Also, this is my first one, and the last thing you want to do is try to make the first of anything you do perfect. That's just a lesson in frustration.

Thanks for posting pics of your boat. I'm going to attach my thwarts the same way you did. I think Jason chases the elegance aspect of his boats too much for a builder of my talents. I need to over build to help compensate some both for my building ability, rowing skills and attentiveness on the river.

I see you're in Bozeman. I got as far as Rock Creek last year. I'm going to try NW Montana this year. I want to try to see how far I can drag my ass up the SF of the Flathead. I know I won't be able to use the boat, but it's got to be a great trip. Ever fished up that way?
