I am retired from guiding but I boated in Washington, Oregon and Idaho for close to 40 years.

I had other boats but always went back to wood. I love the way they track and how warm they are....

    PPS, amen brother on wood being warm! That really makes a difference up here in the Fall! Flies will actually flash-freeze to a metal boat if you acidently let it hit the sides or other surfaces in a lot of the weather we fish in, not to mention my dog's feet! She will actually freeze down to a metal boat!

    Great photos and stories. I too grew up in Forks, WA and moved to Oregon for school and never went back. I was wondering if you keep in touch with the fishing up there still? I have fond memories of guiding and catching Sol Duc 18 pounders on a regular basis!
