Thanks guys, Im reading this after I changed the chine taper. Yes, it added flair but it turned out so much better that I cannot even believe it. That flair really adds alot of detail. I started a taper about a foot back and faired the curve with the rest of the boat to end at the appropriate measurement. It turned out wonderful.
Chris, you are right though. A very small change can really CHANGE things in a hurry. Thanks guys for your suggestions!

I think you will be fine Josh, A little more taper will lift the transom out of the water a bit more as Chris suggests but your boat is already low to the water so it should not cause an issue. I recommend that you make the change as close to the transom end of the boat as possible while keeping a smooth transition.

Careful what you do to that chine taper. It will have Unintended consequences in regards to flair and the ensuing rocker profile. Changing one variable changes it all. I would just scarf a small piece of plywood onto your side panel and go w the original layout
