Duncan, 

I am sorry this took so long to reply.  I moved from Kirkland WA, to Camano Island, WA over the winter and am just now getting back to normal. You are correct I did use Ken's plans but I did not use the stitch and glue method. I used the conventional building method. I built the frame with bow and stern attached and spread the boat to the width I wanted then skinned it. I also added runners on the bottom so it would track straight and covered them with kevlar instead of glass for better wear on the rocks. The bottom and out sides are glass. I also added extra gunnel rail to tie things off to while fishing etc.  The boat runs straight, glides right along, and floats over lily pads almost as if they were not there. I used very thin skin over the boat (about 1/4" ) so I will not take it on a river to drift or it will end up as tooth picks after the first bolder. The boat is very light and easy to carry.  It still fits into the back of my pickup truck for easy transport but I do have to keep the tail gate down.

The boat weighs about 34 to 40 lbs I haven't checked it but I am a small person and can carry it by myself. I did spread the frame almost to the max beam which gives the arch to the bottom of the boat which I like the looks of,  I will get actual measurements later. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hi Bob. I was admiring your pram. This looks like a version of Ken Hankinson? 8 Drift Pram? I just purchased my set of the same plans & I was really interested in some of your deviations from the plans. This will be my first build. I would like a framed bench seat  and maybe the same rails as yours. what is the weight & also did you build to the maximum beam?
