Thanks for the nice comment. I really have been enjoying working on the boat! I got it from Al with Solitude River Trips. It has three seasons on the MF. I just finished the varnishing. I put a lot of thought into my new additions. The rear knee brace it 24" wide at the top. The hole where your thigh fits into is similar to a Clacka craft. But, mine, I made slightly wider at 10" wide. It's quite comfortable. It is 28" tall at the top of the brace from the level floor. It does not affect the oarsman because I have incorporated an adjustable rowing seat. With the rowing seat slid all the way forward, there is approximately 16" of space between your back and the front of the brace. I think this also very important to keep the properly balanced.
This brace is really cool. Your whole boat is beautiful. How difficult was the brace to assemble? What are the rough dimensions? Does it impede the oarsman's ability to row? Very nice work.
