It is a rainbow trout.  Most likely with the Palamino gene not an albino.  There is a body coloration gene for this "golden" or orange pigment.  In Mo they grow and sell them as golden trout and you sometimes can find them in the grocery store.  The fins are in good shape so it could be a wild fish.  Eastern Oregon lakes are often stocked, but there may be some natural production in tributary streams.  Does the lake connect with a larger watershed or is it one of the interior basins?

Maybe , it sure was pretty. It looked just like a trout, except that it was orange. I let it go but it sure would have been interesting to taste it and find out what color the meat was !
