Thanks for the info.

I'll be posting some pics later on today.  Construction has been... eventful.   'eventful' in this case being a euphemism for nerve-racking, and/or ulcer-inducing.

My buddy and I just spent the past 3 days trying to deal with a mistake we made in setting the transom's height above the strongback.  The plans weren't exactly clear (go figure).   We took that as an opportunity to redesign it and make it wider since the original is so damned skinny at the bottom.  Why this is I have NO idea, but as I'm sure you're aware it makes fitting and bending the chine logs next to impossible.

Having learned woodworking building furniture, I've gotten used to the axiom that if you measure perfectly, take your time and do things correctly, everything fits together as it should.   I'm quickly learning that it does not apply to boat building!

I know Spira says to use 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick ply for the sides, but I'm planning on using 1/4".   What did you end up using?

Found a nice piece of mahogany for my stem.  seeing how nice yours turned out helped me make that decision!
