Missed the VW Rock to the left (barely) and had to swing the bow one more time to pull away from the last rock in the run (don't know it's name...). Cruised to the finish where we caught our breath and looked over our notes for the Devil's Staircase which is just around the corner.... a shot of whiskey would have been nice!!

Greg this is just a fantastic sequence. Great job. This river in the fall is by far my favorite ever yet I get there so seldom. I've always run with a guide so didn't need to do the sweaty palm part. That's on my agenda.

These photos are a perfect way to experience the run, a great help. Thanks for all the hard work.

Very cool... I'd like to be running that stretch when I'm 60 !!

The first time I went through Blossom I followed three very old, but very clean, Alumawelds through that were all piloted by men with their wives as passengers all over 60. They told me they all get together once a year and run the river lodge hopping and had been doing so for over 30 years. I pulled into celebration eddy and chatted with them. They asked if it was my first time down I said yes, and asked how they could tell. The one guy told me my hands were shaking! He told me I did great, and if you didn't get excited flying down through there then you must be dead or stupid!

Celebration eddy... I like it - and I needed a shot of whiskey for sure. I was pretty "jacked up"... we hung out there for bit to collect ourselves before moving on.

Nice run Greg. The classic line. All the rocks were out and in play that month for sure!

We call the eddy above Devils Staircase, Celebration Eddy. We always gather up there and have a shot of whiskey to ease the nerves..:D

Thanks Brent. I'd like to spend the entire month of October running that stretch - white water was a blast and the fishing was GREAT.
