We are using the dimensions off the original GEM for the rocker, width, height, bulkheads, transom, you name it. Instead of using oak for the chines and gunwales, i used clead fir one-by lamintaed into two by twos. Fulmer was an athletic director at the Muncie YMCA, and he was not a woodworker. That's a good thing, as I'm a physical therapist. Fulmer's bulkheads were off by over a quarter inch on the original boat. Now That's my kind of carpentry :>)
