Not sure how you got mixed up with that crew, what a bunch of clowns. We had the misfortune of sharing Surprise Canyon camp with them, drunk and drugged out of their minds. Glad you made it out and moved on to better things, like wood boats! Cheers.

umm...yes, and it was a good idea too. way too much craziness to be left with all those drunks for 3 more days. i made it to the takeout that night...over 50 miles in one day. i was sore for 5 days afterwards. heard there was even more group carnage after i left. yikes...

my group was from jackson. i was the kayaker in the green boat who was playing guitar with kyle thru the trip. got back from the canyon and bought a wood boat the next week.

It was definitely reassuring to see so many safety kayakers in the eddy at the bottom. This was a wild ride. Where was your group from again?
