I think your description of the clamshell is correct. Its the one that is wedge shaped before VW that you can run right up up.

Thanks Mike... that was quite an initiation to the Wild and Scenic section... hey - do you know which rock is called "clam shell" in Blossum Bar - I think I know which one it is, but not entirely sure. The Picket Fence was a mess when we went through, as you can see from the pictures... those guys got messed up pretty good. We were picking up their stuff for a couple of miles down-river.

That's called Grave Creek Falls.You guys had nice lines.

When I took my DB down at the end of Oct. the drop was pretty steep. I entered the drop center right down the V of the wave. Man was that a mistake, should have rode the softer pillow to the left. I have never seen as much water come over the bow and sides of my Willie. We made it, but my passenger pumped 6" of water out of the bottom of my boat for the next ten minutes.

I was told by a few guides later that day that two boats had sunk in that drop a few weeks earlier.
