Thanks Greg - I hope I'll like the contrast of the painted hull and the varnished wood on the inside. I really like some of the natural wood that you guys have done but just wasn't satisfied with the wood on mine. I ordered the wood and it was a bit different than I thought it would be. You can't see it from this picture but the wood is quite a bit different in color on the starboard side. We don't have a source here in Boise. As has been mentioned in other blogs on this site - that is one of the advantages to a kit. Better wood or at least more dependable sourcing. It was still a great project and I am hooked on boat building.

Wow... Nice job Jon. Looks fantastic and very "river worthy"... are you sure you want to paint that beautiful wood??? I kinda like it just like that... ???
