I saw that Mike Baker had used this application on Rob Grub's boat.  It looks nice but my idea is more function because the boat will be pulled from an eye bolt after beach landings.

Nice - when oiled or varnished that will look terrific.

Hey, I like that plywood laminated to the inside stem.  great idea for a nice clean look.
